Visiting all the shrines! – 1/7 2020

Hello again!
Today it’s wednesday and right now it is 7:30 pm. I didn’t write anything yesterday because I din’t do anything special, I woke up quite late and took a stroll aroud the area and went to a local supermarket to buy som breaefast and snacs.
I ate lunch at an Italian resturant, Terrazza, the food was relly good and the restaurant had a nice fresh atmosphere. I would really recomend it if you are looking for something other than japaneese food in the area. The rest of the day i just chilled at the hotel room.

Today on the other hand I did a lot. I woke up quite early and had breakfast, then I looked at the weatherforcast, it was going to be sunshine all day!
So I decided to go out and visit the shrines in the area, there are a lot of them. I also decided to eat lunch outside, so I packed a little lunchbox, put on my walkingboots and headed out.

I started my walk by following the ”shrine Street” until I got to the path that leads to the Hakone shrine, if you follow the path for a few minutes you get to a turning point, there you can choose to go up the moutain to the Hakone shrine or to go down to the water to vitit the heiwa-no-torii, Tori of peace.

The path goes trough a big cedar forest and is lined with beatuiful lanterns and traditional gates, alog the way there were a few smaller shrines and the atmophere was so soothing and spritual. The whole experience was very meditative, you could just breathe, relax and look at the fantastic veiws. The only downside was that there were a lot of pepole there, so sometimes you could feel a little cramped or stressed.
Once I got to the turning point I waked down to The tori of peace where I took a few pictures and enjoyed the ocean air for a while

Once I got tired of trying to get o good picture I walked up to the path again and took a litte detour through the forest up to the Hakone shrine, I found a calm place with fewer pepole and ate my lunch.

I then made my way back to the hotel, but i realized that I hadn’t been out for very long, so I decided to go to a buddhist temple called ”kofukuin” a bit further in to the village. Once I had explored all I could in and around the temple I walked to the supermarket to buy some candy. I then walked back to the hotel

The rest of the day I Stayed in the hotel, edited some photos and took an online course in Japanese. I had dinner at the hotel’s reataurant and it was great, very calm and soothing atmotphere and good traditional food.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
I hope you have a good day and I will see you soon.

Here are some pictures I took during the day
